The sport lifestyle company PUMA teamed up with industrial designer Yves Béhar to reconsider how it packages the millions of shoes it sells each year. The result: a “Clever Little Bag” that will replace conventional cardboard shoeboxes with a re-usable bag. Using the “Clever Little Bag” means saving material used during manufacturing, reducing weight during transport and not having to use additional consumer carrier bags.
To be more precise – PUMA’s new packaging and distribution system will reduce the paper used for shoeboxes by 65% and carbon emissions by 10,000 tonnes per year. What a clever way of adapting consumer products to become more in tune with the planet!
